The campsite is generally well run and kept clean, the location next to the river is fantastic. The weather was superb too. However the chalet we stayed in was lacking some basic supplies such as wine glasses, butter knifes and any bedding sheets as specified in the inventory. we could have really benefitted from a fan as the chalet stays very hot at night, it also felt rather cluttered as there is a full table and chairs set inside and another on the deck outside which takes up most of the space. we stayed from 2-9 August 2026 not the dates above that are pre populated with the wrong info.

Accommodation review

The site is clean and well run in general, the view from the pool is spectacular, entertainment on site midweek was really good and highly popular with the campers. All the staff (bar one) were really friendly courteous and polite. The river is a lovely temperature to swim in and a short stroll from the site. Canoe trips can be organised very easily on site or just up the road. I highly recommend the canoe trips and also the forest of squirrels treetop adventure, its like go ape in the UK but so much better in every way !! also Castelnaud is an excellent day out as is the village of Domme.

The owner never supplied the bedding as specified on the website inventory for the cabin we rented . The pool gets very busy and needs far more sun loungers, if you don't arrive early you stand no chance of getting one plus there are far too few sun shades only about 5 for the whole pool area. I would definitely recommend the site for campers but I would not rent a chalet here again, it was nice to have our own bathroom but we would have been genuinely happier and more comfortable in our own air tent. none of us slept well all week as the cabin was too hot at night with little ventilation.

Site was well equipped and facilities were always clean and well maintained. Pool great for the kids at the end of a hot day. We’d definitely visit again.

Beautiful spot and super friendly, helpful staff. The balcony overlooking the river was our favorite thing about the place, and the pool was cool and refreshing too. We also had a wonderful day canoeing down the Dordogne. Thank you!

Fans would be a really helpful addition to get the air moving, especially on warm nights.

We loved the simplicity of the site. A beautiful pool uncomplicated by flumes, lots of green space and easy access to the river.

It was very hot and adjustable umbrellas by the pool would have been helpful for shade.

Accommodation review

Well stocked with everything we needed and a covered veranda.

The setting was very peaceful and well maintained. The swimming pool was beautiful - not heated yet but on a very hot day it was very refreshing. Close to river so a nice walk down with the dog.in the evening. Visiting Sarlat, Domme, Rocamadour and other places were very accessible from the site as it was very central. Fantastic restaurant at Montfort. Unfortunately the snack bar/restaurant/bar /shop were not open when we were there so can't comment on these

Accommodation review

Very large pitch in a quiet spot. Only a handful of others on campsite during our stay well spread about. The pitch was very soft and a bit muddy due to weather conditions.

La Bouysse is a lovely family run campsite situated next to the Dordogne. The scenery around you is stunning, whether you’re in the pool or having a drink at the bar. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Shower blocks and toilets were clean. There’s a snack bar onsite serving pizzas, burgers etc as well as local cuisine such as confit or magret de canard. The food is well priced and was very tasty! We’ve holidayed in this region for over 20+ years and its campsites like La Bouysse that will keep us coming back, so it’s no surprise that we’ll be booking again for 2026.

None, keep doing what you’re doing.

Accommodation review

Our camping pitch was a decent size with enough space for our caravan with awning, which had a bedroom extension on, a small two person tent and a gazebo, which we use to have our table and chairs under. There was also space to park our car on the pitch too. Our camping pitch also had plenty of shade, which was needed most days in the 30-40 degree heat!

Nope, nothing.

We spent two days. One visiting the Lascaux cave and the other with the canoe trip proposed by the accommodation. Both activities are extremely recommendable. La Bouysse is an excellent campsite both in terms of facilities and location.

Accommodation review

The pitch was big, flat and grassy. What more do you need?
