Welcoming staff. Great location and excellent services. Very clean amenities. Good value price for such a convenient campsite walkable to the town and right on the voie verte for walking or cycling.

We were able to choose our pitch, which was great. Every location we saw was shady and private, with adequate space. Most pitches had electricity, but we did not need it and had a pitch close to the path to the river and town.

We had a wonderful time at La Riviere. Plenty of shade, excellent infrastructure and location, friendly staff. All very clean. The swimming pools are really nice.

We stayed in a static caravan that was great, everything new and clean, the external kitchen was well equipped and beds were comfortable. Sun lounging chairs were provided as well as a proper table.

The campsite, cafe, pool, staff and location

The First floor accommodation we had was looking tired. The microwave was at a dangerous height about 2m above floor and above head height. The sliding door to WC was poorly located and covered the light switches when open. The bed was comfortable. The TV was not working.

Establishment

The peaceful atmosphere and the beauty of the surroundings. The walks along the riverside with the limestone cliffs are stunning. Easy walking to Les Eyzies, the museum and Gorge d’Enfer. The swimming pool setting is magnificent and amazing in hot weather to relax by. The freezer for our ice blocks kept our cooler chilled and it was easy to reserve fresh baked croissants etc for breakfast. Great facilities and a private shady pitch.

Some swimming pool lounger chairs need repair and they are more comfortable than the deck chairs. The big swimming pool water temperature was excellent when we arrived in mid August but too cool by the of the month.

Accommodation review

Our large pitch was private, very spacious and shady, with sunny areas to sit in throughout the day. The pitch was swept for us on arrival. Water was close by.

Foarte curat, se face des curățenie la dușuri și toalete. Personalul foarte de treabă, încearcă să ajute, vorbesc bine engleză.

Majoritatea nu mai au iarbă pe jos sau doar puțină din cauza umbrei și cortul se poate murdari de noroi dacă plouă.

Establishment

This is the 4th time we have stayed at Riviere so we knew what to expect. We hadn't stayed in peak season before so the site was busier than we expected but the toilet / shower blocks were enough to cope. Pitches have plenty of shade which was welcome in a heatwave! Campers were mostly French and Belgian. Bar is open until mid-evening and there is a basic snack menu - on two evenings, outside caterers are on site (one night - duck produce and the other night - galettes and crepes). Site manager went above and beyond to help us when there was a problem with our electric cable.

It would be nice if the bar stayed open a little later or just leaving the lights on on the patio so we could finish our scrabble game!

Accommodation review

We were in our own (large) tent. Pitches are spacious and shaded by trees with mature hedges marking each pitch
